What is eSwitch?
eSwitch is a service offered by Davis + Henderson (our official cheque supplier) that helps to switch or transfer pre-authorized transactions (PATs) from other financial institutions.
What are the benefits of eSwitch?
The eSwitch program takes the onus of transferring PATs off you, so that your switch to the Ottawa Women's Credit Union is simple and straightforward. eSwitch handles every aspect of the switch, including informing the biller of change of accounts, managing the timing of changes, troubleshooting when required, and advising you through the entire process.
How does the process work?
There are five fairly simple steps involved in eSwitch:

Your Member Service Representative will cover all the benefits of the service with you first.

Your MSR will complete a switch authorization form and fax it to the eSwitch Centre.

An eSwitch representative will call you at a predetermined date and time to advise you through the switching process.

eSwitch will notify all billers of the change to your account.

eSwitch will issue a "switch confirmation package" to you, which includes the payment change schedule, a payroll assist form and a quick note of thanks.
It's that easy!
How long does it take to switch my account?
The average time period to complete the switch is 4-6 weeks. Some billers require a month's notice in order to switch their transactions from one account to another. The actual processing time is quite short, but the process cannot be considered complete until all billers have made required changes to their records.
You Don't Have to be a New Member to use eSwitch®
Many of our members operate chequing accounts with us, but some have only savings, or RRSPs, or loans or mortgages. We know that many of you have hesitated to switch your chequing arrangements – simply because switching has become such a complicated and onerous task. eSwitch has changed all that!
Who has the time to contact the insurance company, hydro, gas, cable, and any number of others to request that their monthly bills be directed to a new chequing account at a different financial institution? No need.
Ask us to open a chequing account. Choose a time to be contacted by telephone by the eSwitch Centre. Gather your bills together prior to the call, and in less than ten minutes the information will be taken, and our partner in offering you this service, Davis and Henderson, will make it all happen for you! And best of all, it’s free!
The eSwitch Centre will send you a Confirmation Notice in the mail detailing your new Payment Change Schedule, a Payroll Change Assist Application form and some more pertinent information to make sure that the transfers are quickly and easily done.
